Terms of use

These terms are an agreement between you and [Company name, RC number] ("we"), who run JobCity. By creating an account you accept them.
1. What JobCity is
JobCity helps people in Jos find jobs, hire workers and book local services. We are a marketplace: we are not the employer of anyone who finds work here, and we are not a party to the agreements between members.
2. Your account
- You must be 18 or older and use your own phone number.
- Give true information. Do not pretend to be someone else or create accounts for other people without their permission (agents must follow the agent rules).
- Keep your sign-in codes private. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
3. Job seekers never pay
No one may ask a job seeker for money to get a job — no "registration fee", "form fee", "training fee" or similar. If anyone asks you for money, stop and report them in the app. We remove anyone who breaks this rule and may report them to the police.
Job seekers may choose to buy optional extras such as a profile boost. These are never needed to apply for a job.
4. Rules for everyone
You must not: post fake, illegal or misleading jobs or services; post jobs that discriminate unlawfully; harass, threaten or cheat other members; share someone else's private details without their permission; try to take payments outside JobCity to avoid fees or our protection; or interfere with how JobCity works.
5. Employers
Jobs must be real, lawful and describe the pay honestly. You must pay workers what you agreed and follow Nigerian labour law. We may review, edit or remove any job.
6. Service providers and bookings
- Your prices, photos and reviews must be your own and true.
- When a customer pays through JobCity, we hold the money until the job is marked done, the customer confirms, or the dispute is decided. We then release it to your earnings, less our fee shown at the time of booking.
- Disputes are decided by our team on the evidence both sides give. Our decision on where held money goes is final, but it does not stop you going to court.
7. Payments, credits and refunds
- Prices are in naira and shown before you pay. Payments are processed by Paystack.
- Free credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred and may expire.
- Wallet top-ups can be used only on JobCity. Unused paid balances can be refunded on request, less any bank charges.
- If a paid feature does not work because of our fault, we will restore it or refund it.
8. Agents
Agents are independent and are not our employees. Commissions, holds and cash rules are set out in the agent programme rules in the agent area, which form part of these terms for agents.
9. Reviews and content
You keep ownership of what you post, but you let us show it on JobCity and in our promotion of JobCity. Reviews must be honest and based on a real job or booking.
10. Suspension and closing accounts
We may warn, limit, suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk. You can close your account at any time in Account settings.
11. Our responsibility
We check some members (look for the verified badges) but we cannot guarantee anyone's identity, skills or behaviour. Meet in safe places and follow our safety tips. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses caused by other members, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 6 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Courts in [Plateau State] will hear disputes.
